The minstrel performers are very strange and frankly a very wrong thing to do. But that is how we see it today. People then saw it as their main source of entertainment and honestly it surprises me that the black people didn’t see a problem with it happening and they were a part of them. And I think that O’malley was right when he said that it was used as a way for white men to act like they couldn’t publicly, but then that was also really weird because that portrays that that’s how black people actually acted and reality that is not the case.
